Services
Just like a birth doula supports the beginning of life, an end-of-life doula supports the end of life with compassion, presence, and care.
Planning and Advocacy
Assists with advance directives (like living wills, do-not-resuscitate orders, funeral plans).
Helps the client and their family navigate the differences between medical and hospice care so they can advocate for their loved one's wishes
Rituals and Legacy Work
Helps create personalized rituals like candlelight ceremonies, letters to loved ones, memory books, etc.
Encourages storytelling, video messages, or writing to preserve the person’s legacy.
Emotional and Spiritual Care
Offers a calm, nonjudgmental presence for the dying person and their family.
Holds space for fears, regrets, hopes, and memories.
Comfort and Vigil Support
Provides bedside presence in the final hours or days (sometimes called a “vigil”).
May use touch, music, aromatherapy, guided meditations, or simply silent companionship.
